Kes The Band along with other top regional artistes performed in Jamaica recently. The night kicked off with a highspirited musical warm up by our very own Mr.Slaughter of Xcalibur. The highlight of the night though was that of the soca/pop performance of Kes the Band, which got patrons of Mas Camps Bacchanal Fridays in an ultimate frenzy, singing their 2010’s Heaven, moving straight into hits such as Don’t Stop , Right Dey, This Feeling, Till Morning and My Land, to name a few. Vibing with the crowd, at one point Kees hopped offstage and mingled with patrons while performing. Kes the Band’s show climaxed with 2010 soca success Palance, by JW and Blaze, at which point the Mas Camp patrons joined in, moving left to right in the venue, clearly enjoying the merriment. After the bands’ energetic music set, Kees told reporters, “I always love to come to Jamaica and rock the stage. The Jamaican vibe and energy is so original and cannot be duplicated,”. One patron said, “There are 6 more weeks left of Bacchanal Fridays and if they are anything like tonight I am going to make sure I am at every one.” Kes the band, was very much present at the fetes and events for T&T Carnival. But as it has concluded, they will be doing a lot more traveling taking our music to the world.
